A Russian architect dreams of creating a skyscraper which cleans the air
Alexei Umarov is a Russian architect whose dream is to build a HyperFilter skyscraper which sucks the air through pipes, cleans and cools it and then uses it for further recycling.
This building is like a giant tree, with a skeleton, a porous shell and long pipes with filters in it.
In 2014, he sent his project to a contest and although he didn’t reach the final three, the jury remarked that his idea was very interesting.
This invention is rather difficult to construct and it is costly to assemble all the pipes without the help of drones; in fact, Alexei is still hoping that a big international company will develop his project and start to build them all around the world.
His dream is still not realised but he is still convinced that this skyscraper is the future.
At the very least, designers such as Alexei raise a awareness of pollution.
