Explore the Art Gallery – Middle & High School
Art is a language of expression and experience. The visual arts communicate emotions, ideas, and stories across cultures and time. Education in the visual arts seeks to develop the abilities to “think like an artist.” Students are encouraged to become inquisitive investigators and critical thinkers who use the visual arts to experiment, explore, and purposefully create original expressive artworks.
Art in Early Years & Primary
In the early years of school, art is an experience of discovery. Colours, shapes, and materials become tools to explore the world with curiosity and spontaneity. Children learn byobserving, trying, touching, and experimenting, developing imagination, coordination, and confidence in their abilities.
Art activities in Early Years and Primary are designed to nurture creative thinking and free expression. Through painting, collage, natural materials, simple techniques, and visual play, children learn to transform ideas and emotions into images and forms. At this stage, art is above all a journey: a way to understand themselves, collaborate with others, explore new possibilities, and build the foundations of a creative mindset that will accompany them throughout their school years.
