Welcome back! After a nice Christmas break we returned to school with the topic of Winter, with a focus on the wintery colours of white and blue. We began by making a snowman picture:
And playing the mystery bag game with white and blue objects!:
We played with an arctic animal themed small world tray:
And made wintery collages by stamping with pegs and pom poms, then gluing on sticks and glitter:
The class enjoyed exploring ice! We collected natural wintery objects, out them into bowls of water and froze them. They were curious about the cold temperature and slippery ice:
The children’s favourite activity of the week was during our exploring food session, when we made a coconut flake arctic tray. They shouted “snow!”, smelled (and tasted a little bit!) of the coconut and had fun making it snow over the animals:
