Halloween in Nursery

We’ve had a spooky time in Nursery this week, with Halloween activities, games and a party!

First we made some creepy pumpkins! We mixed red and yellow paint to make orange, painted paper plates and glued on eyes, noses and mouths:

During carpet time we shared ‘Something Spooky’ from home during show-and-tell. Many of the children brought spiders, so we sang Incy Wincy Spider all together. We also played Halloween Mystery Bag, reaching in without looking to pull out a surprise!

We experimented with different tools and containers in a giant Halloween sensory tray! The children enjoyed saying “Purple!”

We explored a pumpkin by opening it up and pulling out the slimy insides!

…And kept the seeds to make a gluing craft:

In our cooking session we made some tasty marshmallow treats. This was great wrist practice as they turned and twisted the marshmallows:

On Thursday we all came in costume!

And went Trick or Treating around the school, along with Preschool:

And finished with party food and music!

Thank you for all of the food, decorations and costumes you brought!
