Our topic for June was ‘Under the Sea’ and we found lots of interesting books in the library about sea creatures. The children then brought in their own toy sea animals for our weekly ‘Show-and-tell’ and we used them for water play. We read the story about the ‘Rainbow Fish’ and the children painted their own fish using watercolours and we made an octopus and some jellyfish for our outdoor display board.
We did lots of maths activities focusing on counting, number recognition and matching objects to numbers which the children enjoyed.
On Thursday 16th June we had our ‘end of year performance’ for Families, the children were excited and sang very well. During the last week of school we had fun ‘water play’ days and the children made their own name bracelets to take home.
On the last day of school the children were presented with their ‘Learning Journals’ and end of year graduation certificates.
