To celebrate Carnival Preschool Yellow had a week of colourful activities!
We began by reading the story of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, who is not a normal grey elephant but a multicoloured one! We made our own Elmer’s by gluing coloured tissue paper. This was good fine motor skill practice as the paper pieces were very thin and fiddly:
Then we sorted our own colourful elephant toys into groups:
We used our fine motor skills some more while using pipettes to experiment with different coloured water:
And again when we repeated a pre-writing cotton bud activity from the beginning of the school year:
The Preschoolers were proud to see the progress they have made!:
In food lab we made rainbow sprinkle frozen yoghurts:
During carpet time we listed to the songs ‘I see something blue’ and ‘I see something pink’ and had a colour scavenger hunt, as well as looking at all the different colours we had on our clothes:
In preparation for our carnival party we made masks and cut some colourful spiral decorations:
On the day of carnival the children wore their costumes and brought in lots of party food!:
