‘Bears Blog’

During the first half of March we explored the topic of ‘Bears’. We read lots of lovely books including the classic Fairytale ‘Goldilocks and the 3 bears’ which focuses on size differences ‘big, medium and small’. We role-played the story with 3 teddy bears and prepared them something to eat and drink and then put them to bed for a nap. The children enjoyed playing the ‘3 bears size bingo’ game and the 3 bears puzzle.

For our weekly ‘Show-and-tell, they brought in a favourite teddy bear from home and we had a Friday afternoon picnic snack which was super fun! The children sorted the small world bears according to colour and size and made houses for them as well an obstacle course. For arts and crafts, we decorated a teddy bear template and made a bear stick puppet.

The children completed their pencil control worksheets and their counting and number recognition worksheet. They role-played doctors, taking care of the poorly teddy bears and during ‘Cooking lab’ we made a yummy bear snack with banana, cereal and raisins.

Our current topics are ‘Spring’ and ‘Minibeasts’. See you soon!
