Literacy and Talk for writing:

‘The little red hen’

Reading this story has taught Reception children a few things and made them think about certain behaviour.

A few examples would be:

Children had fun making masks and putting on a little play:

We added our own character to the story – ‘The Dog’.

‘The little red hen‘ story map. It helped the children retell the story without adult support.

As well as putting on a play, pupils enacted a puppet show using ‘The little red hen’ characters.

This project has been truly fun! The children boosted their confidence and built up their English vocabulary.

Maths:

A delicious and enjoyable maths activity.

Let’s look at some shapes:

Using their cutting skills, children made animals from ‘The little red hen’.

Speaking and listening:

Children had to follow instructions that involved one or more steps. They had to listen carefully!

Topic:

New Year and Chinese New Year.

We also made some colourful fireworks! The children enjoyed splashing the paint on the paper. It was a bit of a messy time 🙂

See you next time.
