The Autumn season has arrived! The leaves have turned orange and brown and fallen from the trees, and the weather is getting colder. In preschool yellow we have wrapped up warm and spent lots of time outside to explore how the school gardens have changed.
We also brought the outside into the classroom and incorporated wood, chestnuts, conkers, leaves and pine cones into loose parts play and decorating the room.
We got creative, painting hedgehogs, autumn trees and cutting leaves (“They are rabbit ears!”).
And made some delicious autumn themed snacks too. We made owl rice cakes and chocolate corn flake cakes.
I have also introduced the concepts of names and the weather into our morning routine. The children have shown a big interest in letter and they are proud to be able to read and recognise their names. Parents can support this at home by pointing out letters whenever you might see them together with your child during the day!
