Last week was a special one, it was all Yellow!
It is always beautiful to make children start to understand the power of colours, and the colour of the Sun is a great way to start.
We first explored the colour yellow by cutting and glueing pieces of yellow paper in different shapes and different forms. We all learned to colour inside shapes like Sunflower petals to practice our pencil grip.
We made necklaces and bracelets for parents and brothers with yellow pasta to continue working on our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination skills.
As a sensory activity we had different boxes with a mix of all objects of every colour: pompoms, strings, buttons, small animals, in which we had to separate all the yellow objects into an empty box.
We played with our own personal tray of yellow corn flower containing objects like funnels, beakers, scoopers, and plates to fulfil our imagination and role playing skills. We made of that corn flower a perfect dough for a cake by simply mixing it with a little water. We reminded ourselves of what it was like to be at the beach.
We finished our week by painting yellow paper plates and wooden sticks into suns by glueing the two together. We later hanged them around our classroom tree.
And we never forgot to have fun playing on wooden horses outside in the garden!
This week is all about our fairytale project: Goldilocks and the three bears!
