Yellow! I see something yellow!

Last weeks topic in Preschool was ‘Yellow’ and the preschoolers explored it in many different, fun ways;                       First we did a group painting for our classroom display and then made yellow collages using paper, card, elastics, pompoms and shapes. We also made yellow toilet roll tube people, superheroes from yellow wooden sticks and happy sun faces with paper plates.

We read the ‘5 little ducks’ big book and looked for yellow objects in our classroom (which we then used to play with in the big sensorial rice tray. The children really enjoyed making yellow water (with food colouring) in their individual trays and then played with yellow toys and objects such a funnels, beakers, scoopers and lego animals.

In the sandpit, the children made sandcastles and birthday cakes and collected twigs, leaves and acorns.                Of course we have lots of fun exploring and playing outdoors daily, even on rainy days!
