Dashing December!

Topic on shapes: the children explored their classroom looking for shaped objects and recreated shapes using wooden lollypop sticks. We had lots of fun making shaped biscuits decorated with chocolate drops and we also made Christmas trees and star decorations from das.

The preschoolers were very busy making lots of decorations and Christmas crafts to take home; we made a reindeer hand-print card, a toilet roll tube reindeer, snowflakes from lollypop sticks, painted pine cones (and a wooden circular decoration which the children decorated at home wih their parents and brought to class for ‘Show-and-tell’). We also painted and decorated lots of pine cones to sell at the Christmas market and decorated our clasroom for the Christmas concert. Unfortunately several children were sick on the last day of school but those who were present at the concert sang very well. Great job indeed!

On December 17th we went on a school trip to Agrilab in Campagnano together with the Reception children. We made yummy Christmas biscuits and visited the farm animals; the children were very enthusiastic and enjoyed themselves!

In January we will be exploring the Winter season and will carry out our 2nd project experience named ‘Loose Parts’.
