Year 3 have been working on the plastic project. The class learned about the so-called carbon footprint, a measure used to determine how much one “tramples upon” and hurts the earth. Using their knowledge of halving and doubling, yellow and blue found out how waste is increasing and how we need to cut our plastic use.
To raise awareness, the students dipped their feet in paint and marked their “carbon footprint” on a piece of paper to show how much energy and waste they produce.
This was an incredibly fun and insightful activity which the students enjoyed. Photos below.
