As you’ve surely seen on our display board, we’ve been very active in the Blue and Yellow classes!
In literacy, while learning all about writing instructions, we’ve also been engaged in our weekly spelling practice games. Focussing on one sound a week, these different activities are designed to help us consolidate our knowledge of sound-spelling correspondences.
We’ve also been learning all about the different types of nouns, and the difference between common and proper nouns.
For our first topic we’ve been learning about the 7 continents. Looking at a power point presentation we learned fun facts about each of the continents and recorded our favorite facts in our detective booklets!
Finally, we’ve also started working on our year ling project dedicated to plastic pollution awareness.
First we wanted to understand for ourselves that plastic never really goes away. So we buried different objects to see how they biodegrade… or not!
Then to get a better understanding of how serious the problem is, we organized a beach clean up during our school trip. Look at how much plastic, and other trash, we collected in just 10 minutes!
We decided to make a display for every one to understand how bad the situation is!
After all this hard work fun and learning we deserved a nice relaxing moment!
