A fresh new year!

This year we have had a few changes, not only have we changed classrooms, but also teacher!
I am delighted to have year 4 this year and can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.

Our new classroom is much larger, with lots of light and even a kitchen. We have enjoyed having the extra space; we have used our reading corner a lot and currently making out way through ‘The Twits’. The children wrote some funny character descriptions of Mr and Mrs Twit.

We have also started reading logs, to track how much we are reading, I must say there are definitely some bookworms in our class! I also encourage everyone to write book reviews on their favourite reads and stick them near their reading log for future reference.

A highlight of the month was burying our time capsule, filled with ‘about me ‘ English and Maths sheets and even Davide’s little penguin – we look forward to digging up the time capsule and Mr Penguin in June.

Our first Topic went off with a bang… a Big Bang! We are really getting into the topic with videos, books and posters. Watch this space for more on the Big Bang!

Lastly, it’s really lovely to see such strong friendships in this class and when someone is having a bad day or stuck on something, they don’t have far to turn for help. Year 4 have already made a positive impression on me, as they have done on last year’s teacher Miss Beth, who sent in a gift and postcard saying how much she missed everyone.

Goes to show what a lovely bunch Year 4 really are! So let’s get stuck into this new year!
