It has been a very busy first month in year 1 and the children have all settled in well. The children are coping very well with the change and it is encouraging to see their determined faces and eagerness to learn during lessons.
In topic and science, the children have been busy exploring using their five senses. They have completed a range of activities in order to explore and use their senses. This has included making spicy paint, creating music with glasses of water and taste testing!
In English, the children have been revising their phonics sounds and correct letter formation. They have been practicing their spelling of CVC words by writing labels and captions. We are already noticing children grow in confidence in when reading, which is wonderful to see!
In Math, we have consolidated our understanding of numbers and quantities through fun hands-on activities and games.
See you next month!
