Ladies and gents the is the moment you’ve waited for…year 3’s spectacular performance!
The children of year 3 recently took part in their theatre performance of ‘The Greatest Showman’. As a class, we felt that the story is very important as it looks at people’s differences and highlights the importance of inclusion. The fact that everyone is different makes us unique, individual and very special. The children absolutely loved the meaning behind the play, the beautiful songs and their exciting costumes. Well done year 3!!
“Oh the places you’ll go!”- Dr Seuss
As a class, we revisited this brilliant rhyming book. At the beginning of year 3 the children worked on their targets for the year ahead. As the year is now sadly ending, the children have reflected on their time and their targets. We created target ‘signposts’ to show where we would like to go (achieve) in year 4. The children used their imaginations to plan a journey. Some of the children were very lucky and managed to go to space to play basketball…amazing! The children also showed off their learning within poetry when they continued one of Dr Seuss’s stanzas. They were able to use Dr Seuss’s short and snappy rhyming style within their work.
Money, money, money, money!
The children have really enjoyed out last mathematics topic, money. The children are able to use and recognize coins, create amounts, use a budget, give change and add multiple prices together. Their favourite lesson was when we created a shop within our classroom. The children took turns both paying for items and giving change to their customers. This was a really hands on exercise that worked extremely well to strengthen the children’s understanding.
