SCHOOL’S BLOG
This month in year 7, we studied lots of wonderful things.
In history (with Mr Gale), the first thing we studied were VIKINGS.
This means raiders! However, they didn’t just raid places! They were also handymen, boat builders, potters, leather workers, smiths, and most of them knew how to handle a boat and could fight in battle. They had a very well structured society – they were not the simple barbarians we thought they were!
In geography (with Mr Gale), we studied Earth’s story. We learned from where the world came! How lucky are we to have developed over billions of years, to reach where we are today? The world is extremely old, in fact if we were to divide up the earth’s time into a 12 hour period…humans would only have been here for two seconds! WOW! We also studied map skills and we have just learned about the symbols that are on OS maps.
In science (with Ms Torres), we learned that safety is very important and we looked at all the symbols regarding safety. We also learned all about microscopes. There are three types of microscope: light, electric and simple.
