This year all, over the UK, new pubs have opened. They are themed because the founders want to give the customers different experiences. The themes are usually inspired by popular culture and stories or movies.
In London, they have opened a Harry Potter themed pub. The co-founder of this bar, Matthew Cortland, had this idea while he was studying graphic design, because he thought that the concepts that he read in books and stories could be brought to life, so he decided to create a themed pub thanks to the technology that we have today.
The Cauldron started out as a pop-up. A pop-up is a hospitality event opened for a limited amount of time. It is usually held in a tent or in an existing venue.
Mr Cortland said that pop-ups are attractive and are good for promoting the venue concept online.
The Cauldron has already opened two pop-ups, selling out all the tickets, so it is now looking for a permanent venue in the centre of London.
There are themed bars other than The Cauldron, but many of them are failing to prove popular with millennials.
So will concept bars change, to attract more customers, using new ideas, such as interactive projects and games to stay original?
