Our days in year 2

We’ve been very busy in the year 2 classes during the last month.

Our first field trip took us to Macchia Grande. There we learned more about the woods, the animals that live there and how to track them.

We went on a scavenger hunt trying to find as many interesting natural elements as we could. Plants, soil, rocks, berries bugs and more were discovered, and we got to learn about what those elements were and their role in the ecosystem.

We shared our finding with the other teams and got to take a closer look at everything we found!

We even got to pet some tortoises!

Back in the classroom we’ve embarked on our first literary journey.                                                               We’ve spent the last few weeks learning about instructions.

After listening to and following the instructions to draw a simple picture, telling alien Miss Natalie how to make a sandwich, writing instructions on how to be naughty and reading and following instructions to make a puppet we’re now ready to present our fist piece of writing!

Make sure to check out our display board next week to see our work.

Our english language arts have also been developing as we continue to learn about nouns and hone our phonics an spelling skills

And, lastly, the first part of out Great Explorers topic, Christopher Columbus, has come to an end. We’ve learned songs, done some map work and much more. Remember to look for our project presentation in the next post.
