All the children in year 3 have had an extremely busy and exciting first few weeks back at school. We have already took part in a team building day, celebrated the work of Roald Dahl by dressing up as his famous characters and met two new friends who have joined our class this year. Fantastic start!
As part of our literacy focus, we summarized James and the Giant Peach in the form of a comic book strip. The children loved recreating the story through their illustrations, especially the GIANT peach. We also designed our own shoes for Mr Centipede as having to buy so many can get awfully expensive.
We also loved explorin
g the school as part of our Science topic this term. As we are learning about plants, we felt we should record all the different plants we have here at Acorn House. We found more than 10 types but we are sure that there is much, much more.
Within mathematics, we have revised number bonds, looked at addition, subtraction and learned some more about place value. We used this circle in one of our lessons to show off how well we know ou
r number bonds to 100 and beyond.
