It’s only been two weeks since school started and we’ve already done lots of learning in Year 2 Blue and Yellow.
In the midst of beginning of the year reviews and assessment we’ve taken our first literary journey; 
discovering the works of Roald Dahl. Reading The Enormous Crocodile and George’s Marvelous Medicine we’ve met fun characters and crazy plots that have gotten our imagination going!
We learned many new, interesting words and decided to make a display to remember them.
That Enormous Crocodile did make us laugh a lot ! But, despite what he thinks, we’re not sure his tricks are that clever… What do you think?
And what about George? And that horrible grandmother of his? We don’t know yet what this magical marvelous medicine is, or what it will do, but we’re sure glad our grandmas are nothing like his!
We’ve also started working on our first topic, Earth and beyond. As we learn all about our planet we are also learning about Christopher Columbus and his great discovery.
Finally, as no beginning of the year would be complete without lots and lots, and lots of review, we’ve started learning how to work in groups and rotations by reviewing some of the key skills we developed in year one. It’s a great opportunity for us to learn from each other, and get to know the new children who joined our class this year.
