Our very first month in Reception has been wonderful as well as challenging. Children have been introduced to a very busy timetable involving many different, fun and stimulating activities. Morning lessons include core subjects like phonics, maths, tricky words and talk for writing as well as pre-writing. Afternoons are composed of subject-centred activities such as music, gym, art, cooking and outdoor learning. Here are some pictures to show you what we have been doing this month.
PHONICS:
It is very important for children to get familiar and confident in recognising and forming their own names. Various activities, both indoors and outdoors, allowed the children to manipulate, move, search, form and recognise their names. Activities were also structured for children to actively learn our jolly phonics sounds very first set (s,a,t,p,i,n)
