Welcome Reception Yellow & blue. The new school year has started and the children are having a lot of fun. New friends have been made and old friends have met again.
Literacy
The children have begun to learn letter sound through hands-on fun games activities and songs. They participate willingly in everything that is proposed to them with enthusiasm.
Numeracy
Again through kinesthetic learning children had fun recognizing their numbers and learning how to use them – kinaesthetic learning or tactile learning is a learning style in which learning takes place by the children carrying out physical activities.
Cooking
In class we do cooking every week with the children. This is one of their favorite activities which always ends up in them eating a really good extra snack in the afternoon! They learn new vocabulary and are able to manipulate the ingredients that they use.
School Trip
We also had a great day out at the Zoo on our first school trip. Everyone was really interested in the animals that we visited and the fun train ride at the end of the day but as usual the highlight of their day was what they had brought for lunch and when they could eat it!
