A brutal, bloody campaign led by Edward I (Longshanks) to conquer and rule Scotland. But was it a success? Did the Scots just sit back and accept this foreign invader? NAE CHANCE! We look at the rebellions led by Sir William Wallace and Andrew Murray, the Battle of Stirling Bridge, the Battle of Falkirk and finish on the Battle of Bannockburn. Edward I liked to call himself ‘The hammer of the Scots’, but did he really succeed?
