Art lab.
Welcome to the first of many blogs to come from the art department. Artists hands are the contents of this blog. Having only been back in school 3 weeks it is not possible to show finished works of art created by the children. However, the blogs that follow will show a selection of artworks, from Preschool-Year 9.
Alongside the blogs and online lab photo gallery, I am happy to announce that there will be 2 student exhibitions held in the school. The first will be in December and the second in May. This will be organised just like a gallery where there will be an opening night and meet the artists.
What the children have been doing.
All classes have been working on their basic skills, exploring line and mark making through to different shading techniques. From preschool to Year 4 the children have been learning to describe and create different lines and different marks used in drawing and painting. From Year 5 through to year 9 the children have been looking at different types of shading used when drawing with pencil and are applying their skills in drawing facial features.
I look forward to a creative year with all the children, so let the creativity flow through the many hands of the school and bring smiles to faces near and far.
Watch this space for the next instalment of art.
