Year 4’s Digital Citizenship Project

Our Digital Citizenship Project was a great success!

We started talking about what we thought Digital Citizenship was and after further investigation we found out we knew quite a lot, but didn’t realise it was called Digital Citizenship!

We discussed a section from the Digital Citizenship License each week and had some strong opinions and lively debate. We made notes and started thinking about designing a user-friendly powerpoint to summarise everything we had learnt.

The powerpoint itself would not be an easy task, we had to learn new skills and a range of tools including copying, pasting, changing font, adding images, changing sizes and even adding slide animation.  We weren’t worried, we had Mr Justin on hand to answer any technical questions 🙂

We worked in pairs (chosen by Ms Rebecca) which also challenged us to work with classmates we don’t usually work with. Negotiation and reasoning skills were developed throughout the project and this resulted in harmonious and dynamic teamwork and of course a wonderful final product – the powerpoint!

Take a look for yourself…

After seeing the work and effort put into the powerpoint, we couldn’t wait to show each other and what better way than present to our class mates? The presentation skills were amazing and very professional!

This doesn’t end here, there will a lot more to do in Digital Citizenship in Year 5! We are also looking into Legality and Sustainability. Be prepared for some challenging, though-provoking and fun projects coming your way!
