Well we have been busy recently in Year 7. History is full of misconceptions, in fact, the Botchett and Leggitt company have given us the job of writing a pamphlet for a Middle Ages Theme Park, but they have only given us a load of misconceptions as notes! Our job has been to identify the common misconceptions about life in the Middle Ages and rewrite them correctly! It is a load of work, however. We have had to split into House Groups to complete it in time!
In geography, we studied the United Kingdom! WE learned the difference between the British Isles, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom…do you know what they are? We looked at the weather and why it is so changeable there. We looked at Britain’s long list of immigrants and when they arrived on the Island. We discovered where most people live, in urban areas because there are more jobs and housing and opportunities in general. As we progress, we have turned our attention to the River Thames, that is the river running through London. It travels over 346KM and starts with a puddle in the Cotswalds. It grows because of the many tributaries that feed the Thames, it is even tidal from Teddington!
