Dear Readers,
As last year, through my featured content, I’d like to encourage grown-ups and future-grown-ups (aka children) to play together and share precious moments. This summer I spent my holidays in a really nice place whose sea is as blue as the sky and inhabitants are as warm as the sun: Salento.
The reason why I am making you aware of my own personal life in terms of summer and vacation is because I found out that on August 20th, 2018 Germana Carillo published an interesting article entitled “5 Traditional street games: a playarea set in Salento.” This beautiful initiative, led by Valerio Bonsegna, wants to take a jump into the past to (re)discover or just remove a little bit of dust that covers some traditional games belonging to different cultures or time periods. This sort of “revival” is characterized by a movement called Upcycling which is a process through which old or abandoned things are converted into something beautiful and new, or in this case fun.
This is how the playarea becomes a timeless magic place where grown-ups and children have fun together exploring old games while using their logic, intuition and intelligence where it is not possible to google the solution or ask a question on yahoo answer.
