We had our science and geography trip to the Botanical Gardens in Rome. Luckily we had a great day of sunshine and warmth, after the rain the day before!
We had been studying living things and plants in class and we were able to see some great examples at the gardens. The Japanese Cherry blossom were in bloom and we loved listening to the waterfall.
We were amazed by the bamboo forest and learnt that they flower every 120 years!
In the tropical greenhouse we saw some huge plants with the biggest leaves we have ever seen!
After all of our walking and listening we had a picnic lunch in the park. A huge seagull joined us and provided some entertainment!
We learnt lots about plants and will now be learning lots more in class. Ask us about the parts of a plant and their functions, you may be amazed by how much we know!
