Rrright! We are back for our monthly update on how things go here in Nursery class. February is the second month of the year and if I had to describe it with just one word I’d say… COLORS!
We started on February 5th with a fun and strange activity. If I say February you think “Carnival” which is like a big party where all those people pretend to be someone else because they wear a costume.
“Hi I am a Pirate!”
This is why we decided to start from simple things, like a mask. We had to decorate and personalize a white mask using “confetti” (be careful Italians this word is a false friend, English people use it to talk about coriandoli).
Then we cooked some “frappe” (squishy but tasty) and made a clown out of a paper plate. Then the second week was pretty tiring because we had to work on our second project. What!? No no it is not a mistake, it is the second (not first) don’t you remember?! Our first project was about gravity and recycling. That’s right… the falling panel. By the way during the second week we worked hard because we had to memorize all the colors that we use daily and be little artists for 4 days. Miss Flavia took the outline of our school, in a way that it looked like those skylines in modern paintings, and then we filled it up with orange, blue, yellow and red using our fingerprints. She said that she took the inspiration from an art movement called “pointillism” or something like that.
Even mr Justin (our art teacher) helped us to explore the world of dots, although this time we used something that we know very very well… CORKS!!
it was so colorful and we had so much fun, Now I gotta go, we are living for our white week, can’t wait! see ya
