It’s been an exciting end of term for us in the Year 2 class.
Our literacy unit took taught us about plays; reading them, understanding their features and how they are different from other types of texts we read. We used the classic story of the Three Little pigs to better understand what a play is, and pretended to be actors reading out the play.. Some of us even got so involved in our parts that we gave our characters special voices!
And after acting out a play we went on to write our very own play script for another great classic story: The Enormous Turnip.
We continued to learn about the our world with our Solar system and Neil Armstrong topic and discovered many interesting facts about the planets and Neil Armstrong’s life.
And of course we’ve been getting ready for Christmas!
We had loads of fun when we went to the theater to watch How the Grinch stole Christmas and have been very busy making crafts, learning a song and making in into a story book, preparing a reader’s theater for our Christmas concert and making a very special gift for mom and dad! What exciting times!
With the holiday cheer in our hearts we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!!
