Hi fox! Hope you are having a merry little morning (or afternoon if you are reading this bulletin after school). So last time we left with Ms. Flavia talking about something new while ringing some bells… can you guess what it was?! Okay I’ll give you a hint: it is about a big tall and sweet guy whose beard is as white as snow. What?! Heidi’s grandpa?! No! you are so far, make it simple as adults sometimes say “less is more” … so think simple; you got it right, yes! It’s Santa and his magic xmas land. As you can see, when passing through the corridor, Ms. Flavia drew some dwarfs (that would be us), one Santa’s key and the sign “Santa’s workshop”… she likes pretending our class is a workshop producing xmas crafts. As you enter Nursery class you can see a small xmas tree right next to a snowman’s hat that used to be our yogurt container, one gingerbread man’s house and something that a green grumpy guy called Grinch once said , he hates xmas but deep inside he likes it: “Maybe Christmas does not come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps means a little bit more.” By the way the first days we have been busy dealing with the presents for our parents and items that will be sold at the market, in other words we have been working really really hard! We decorated some pinecones with pompoms and painted the cookie trees that Mr Costanino cut from the trees outside, we turned them into coasters. Plus we have been working on our costumes for the xmas concert, but I won’t tell you what it is… it is a surprise! (“you know Dasher and Dancer….♪, ♩, ♪, ♩”).
Alas December is almost gone and “time is really flying,” actually I do not know what “time” is but it is something that Ms. Flavia says constantly. Since this new month involves red, white, green, glitter, pinetrees, Santa Claus, snowmen and things like that we baked some chocolate biscuits using hearts, bells and xmas tree shapes.
However, while ,in the lunchroom, we realized that our classroom did not have enough lights (if you know what I mean) and asked her to do something about it, and ‘you know what she did?! She took a long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long piece of paper and one cork to paint xmas lights.
She decided to add even more decorations because she said that Nursery is like “Santa’s workshop!” (I wonder what that means). Here is what the little elves, ehm! dwarfs realized: a diy decoration and a snowman using socks (unbelievable she keeps telling “don’t take off your socks! Don’t take off your socks!” and then she uses socks to create Mr. Snowman).
Then one morning, I was sitting at the table waiting for my classmates (hoping to get an extra smiley face) staring at the huge drawing our teacher made and I told her that I was curious to see the bag that Santa uses to bring presents and bibbidi bobbidi bu she arrived with seven teeny tiny bags to fill up and some candy canes to decorate.
With all this supervised work I decided to speak up and pick an activity myself and I asked Ms. Fancy Craft to explore even the world of “New Year’s Eve” since we will be off from school until January 7th (thank goodness! I need a break!). Ms. Flavia agreed and decided to use that thing that grown-ups use right after they took a shower, they put this thing on their head and hot air comes out of it (“Hey giulietta fadda you remember when in September we did body parts?! What’s the name of that thing we have on hour head?!”…giulietta:”la la la la la (while dancing) mmm hair!”…”right, thanks!”); well with this thing we melted crayons to color santa’s sleigh.
We ended the xmas week with FIREWORKS!! we used for the first time a scratchboard, that was amazing and colourful.
Well dear parents, teachers and friends I gotta go now, my parents are waiting for me at the gate I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year (at least that is what adults say these days). Ms. Flavia told me that in January will have even more and different activities and a surprise will come and we won’t be the 7 dwarfs anymore because this “surprise” will change the number of the students in Nursery….
I wonder what that means
