In Year 7, we have studied the very important year of 1066! Edward the confessor died with no male heir to the throne! But he had the forethought to tell his good old buddy William Duke of Normandy that he should replace him on the throne of England. Unfortunately, he made this rather intelligent decision twice, and also told Harold Godwinson that he too should be King. Oh deary, deary, dear Eddie! In addition, Harald Hardraada, the king of the Vikings, also believed he was destined for the throne! The game of thrones begins.
We have also been using our geography skills to locate exact places on maps and using contour lines to show whether or not that hill is really worth hiking up! We also took a moment to remember the fallen soldiers during the first and second world wars, as Remembrance day is coming soon.
