Miss Flavia and the seven little dwarfs

One month is almost gone since we started a new school year and Nursery initially has been through some tough time which technically is called “settling-in” or “adjustment time”. This is the hardest time for the children because they need to get settled in a new structure spending days with new people. They also need to learn to recognise the daily routine and relax and enjoy new experiences.’

This is how I met my seven little dwarfs:

Aleksey, Giulia, Diego, Cristian, Livia, Paola and Elena.

Once everything became more familiar we started to get to know each other through family pictures and body features.

We organised an “All about me envelope” and “My First Photo Album” with cotton buds and “body” painting while singing to the top of our lungs ‘Open the door and you can see… mother, father, sister and me…”♫♪ (a nursery rhyme about family)

We had our first cooking class where we built a nice house with biscuits and chocolate chips…

We also went through one of the most famous stories for children “The Three Little Pigs” where we explored the importance of finding the strength in our family members, whilst Livia tried all the time to warn the pigs that the wolf was coming.

As soon as we finished reading our book, we went outside in our beautiful garden to collect some sticks, straw and stones to reproduce the three piggy brothers’ houses.

And then we ran back in class to fill our little houses

However for the last week of September I wanted to find something great and fun to help them store good memories here at Acorn House. This is why for the Grape Harvest I decided to develop their sense of touch by  pressing some grapes

Well, once the children found out that there was no water inside the tub and we were going to fill it up with fruit they got super-excited. They all had lots of fun, although not everyone went inside the tub because some felt a little bit scared. I’m sure that over the time their curiosity will overcome their fear when experiencing new things

That’s all for the moment….See you next month!

I hope you enjoyed reading our bulletin!!!!!

Have a nice day
