What an incredible two weeks we have had! As always, at the beginning of the year it is an exciting yet busy time but we have had lots of fun learning and getting to know each other. Our first week we spent a lot of time organising our classroom, getting used to routines and making our class look beautiful.
The children were very excited to see that their project was The BIG BANG so we got straight into our learning.
We spent some time learning about the history of what happened and to consolidate our learning we acted out the Big Bang in small groups. The children loved this!
During one of our Math lessons, we looked at positive and negative numbers. The children had to sort themselves into the correct order with little help as possible from the teacher. We also read the book ‘How much is a million?’ and spoke about really large numbers up to one trillion! The children were fascinated to find out that it would take them 23 days to count to one million!
