On the 12th of April, the Early Years children went on their first school trip to the wonderful Selvotta park close to school.
They were very excited to travel on the mini bus and we sang some songs on the way. On arrival the children had their morning snack and then played in one of the play parks. Our guided tour started of visiting the rabbits; the children were very gentle while petting them, although a few were hesitant to do so! Next we stopped at the pond by the bridge to look at the turtles relaxing in the sun.
We walked around looking at different types of birds of prey and then watched a show where the birds flew from their cage to the centre of the field; the children were excited to see them up close and were very well behaved throughout.
We also visited the farm animals and fed them too; there were goats, sheep, hens, turkeys and peacocks as well as a donkey, a horse and even a lama. Some of the children were hesitant to feed the animals and so preferred to observe.
After our tour concluded, we had a picnic lunch and then played in the other play park until it was time to leave.
The children had a fun (yet tiring) day and our tour guide commented on how very well behaved they were !
