Thursday was a fa-boo-lous day!
We love to dress up in Year 3 and our Halloween day was the perfect occasion to show off our best costumes yet. Ghost, vampires, witches, black cats, skeletons, zombies, the Joker himself and more spooky creatures all came together for one fun filled day!
All the school got together for a special Halloween assembly where we all got to show off our great costumes! And what a surprise when two of us won the “best costume award”!! Giulio, aka The Joker won the award for the most original costume, and Sofia M, aka Zombie school girl, won the award for the most creative costume! We got some really cool Halloween prizes to take home… Thank you Mrs. Michaela!! And congratulations also to Alba from Year 6 who won the award for the scariest costume!!
We also celebrated Halloween in class by making a very special type of slime, OOBLECK, known to us as ghost slime.
Take 2 cups of cornstarch and 1 cup of water and you can make this amazing slime that looks like a liquid but acts like a solid!
When you roll in in your hands it makes a solid ball, but the second you stop rolling it, it “melts” in your hands and turns back to slime!
Halloween science is the best!
The day was going so well, and we were so inspired that we even wrote a short Halloween story each! After that we got together in groups and practiced our Halloween poem… and even invented the actions to go along. It was so much fun that we decided to make videos! And just to make things even more fun some of our teachers had organized great Halloween games for us to play!
Playing blind cookie catching, pin the nose on the witch, mystery boxes and bloody hand dip was a great way to wrap up the day!
