Yesterday explored and survived in the Treja Nature Reserve!
We started our adventure by discussing our route and talking about cardinal points.

Some students were so enthusiastic to use their compass that they were already using it on the bus!!
In Calcata!
After a quick snack on arrival, we listened to a short talk about safety rules in the wilderness – ask your child if they remember them.
Then our adventure began! We hiked through the forest, from Calcata to Santa Maria – avoiding wild beasts and poisonous snakes!

We risked our lives traversing a ‘rope’ bridge across a huge canyon!
After a stop for lunch we tested our team-building skills by building a shelter with found materials.

Here are some of the sturdier examples:

After building our shelters we made the treacerous journey back to civilisation.
Once back to safety we drew maps of our journey.
The maps will soon be on display in the corridor!
ANOTHER EXCITING EVENT that took place this week was Manfredi’s birthday!! We had an amazing cake in class and celebrated all together.
