Year 6 Music Instruments Informations

Dear Parents,

Finally we’re all back to work and I’m looking forward to start a new exciting School year full of Music and songs!

I’m very happy to write you this letter because this year the students of Year 6 Class will start learning the Recorder (Flute). This is a great way for your children to improve and focus on all the musical notfluteions that they have been learning so far. This activity will be added to the traditional class exercises (singing songs, listening to music, rhythm and melody games…) Also, i’ve decided to adopt the “Recorder Karate Dojo”, a Rewarding System that uses coloured strings, same as Karate Belts, that students should collect depending on their level of skills.

I kindly ask you to provide your children with a good quality instrument (“Flauto in Do” – marca “Aulos” o “Yamaha”, around 20 euros). I will be providing the students with music scores and audio files (I will upload them on Regel in the homework area) so there is no need for you to buy any music text book.

Please make sure that students will also bring their Music Folder (same as previous years) where they will be collecting not only “Song Lyrics” but also “Music Scores”.

The exercises are very easy, they are provided with an audio file so the children can listen to the “examples” and reproduce it. The usual time of practicing at home should be around 20 minutes per week.

It is important that every student will bring the Flute and the Music Folder to every music lessons.

If they are missing the Flute for two or more lessons the School will ask you to buy a second Flute that will be taken in my personal Cabinet.

I’m available for any additional info, suggestions, and feedback!

Best Regards,

Davide Alivernini
